Lauren began her dance training in Disco Freestyle, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Street, Ballroom & Latin at the age of 4 at the Betty Bouston School of Dance. During this time, she took several dance exams with the ISTD all the way up to her Peggy Spencer Award and Rock 'n' Roll shield, which is a few of the highest awards you can take as an amateur dancer. She was also a successful winner at several competitions and reached the ISTD National Grand Finals every year. Lauren took up Ballet at the age of 15 at Life and Soul Academy and reached Grade 6 with another dance faculty the IDTA, as well as learning Pointe work. She has also taken part in many performances and shows as a child and in her teens. Lauren began assisting in dance classes at Life and Soul Academy and from there found her passion for teaching

After completing all her Disco and Rock n Roll exams with the ISTD, Lauren then decided to go on to train to become a dance teacher, becoming qualified alongside Becky in 2014

Lauren is always looking at ways of improving herself as a dance teacher and will eventually be taking her Licentiate exams with the ISTD. In 2020 she became certified with Alixa Flexibilty in Module 1 and 2 which enables her to provide safe stretching, improving flexibility, preventing injuries and correcting alignment. Lauren also has Level 3 Safeguarding Children

Lauren trains the Comp Squad and teaches at all Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday classes

Becky

Teacher

AISTD

Starting at the age of 4, Becky joined the Betty Bouston School of Dance, training in Disco Freestyle, Rock ‘n’ Roll, Street, Ballroom & Latin. After joining the competition class at a young age, she spent many Sundays at competitions around the country qualifying for the ISTD National Grand Finals every year. In 2010 she took her Peggy Spencer Award along with Lauren completing it with Honours, also completing her Rock ‘n’ Roll shield and up to Gold in Ballroom & Latin. From her teens, Becky used to help Betty at her younger classes and from then new she loved to teach

Progressing to her teaching exams, she has taken her Student and Associate Disco exam as well as her Student Rock ‘n’ Roll and now in training for her Associate Rock ‘n’ Roll

Becky teaches at all Thursday classes and is a cover teacher for all Saturday classes

Tracey

Assistant

Tracey is at all classes and helps out at competitions, showcases, performances and workshops

With being Lauren's mum, she has over 20 years of experience as a 'dance mum' taking Lauren to many competitions and supporting her with all of her exams, from amateur to professional. She's pleased to be part of Eclipse Dance Academy and creating more memories alongside Lauren in her teaching career
